Hrithik Roshan Transfers Rs 25 Lakhs to Cine Artiste Welfare Trust to Aid 4000 Artists

Amid the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, Hrithik Roshan has stepped forward again this time to financially support Cine & TV artistes and their families, who've been hit the hardest due to films/TV serials’ shoots coming to a halt.

Hrithik has donated Rs 25 lakhs to the Cine and TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) to help the 4,000 daily-wage artists. He transferred the money to the Cine Artiste Welfare Trust to help the needy. 

A report in Mid-Day quoted Amit Behl, senior joint secretary and chairperson, outreach committee, CINTAA, as saying, “A few days ago, KWAN, the talent management company that handles Hrithik, asked for our account details and promptly transferred Rs 25 lakh to our sister concern, Cine Artiste Welfare Trust [CAWT]. We will start distributing the money among the daily wagers, with those living hand-to-mouth being our top priority.”

Earlier, Hrithik donated N95 and FFP3 masks for the BMC workers and caretakers. He stepped forward to provide 1.2 lakh nutritious cooked meals for those who cannot help themselves with it. The Super 30 actor empowered the NGO Akshaya Patra to ensure old age homes, daily wage labourers, and low-income groups across India get nutritious cooked meals in these tough times.

The NGO took to Twitter to thank Hrithik for his immediate help. In response of the tweet, the actor wrote: “I wish you the power to ensure that NO ONE in our country sleeps hungry. You all are the real superheroes on the ground. #IndiaFightsCorona #COVIDRelief”

Besides, Hrithik also extended help to the paparazzi, who are left with no work and source of income after the lockdown. Celebrity photographer Viral Bhayani thanked Hrithik for helping the photographers amid the coronavirus pandemic.
