Hrithik Roshan opens up on Super 30 director Vikas Bahl’s MeToo allegations…

…says, “I completely support this movement”

Ever since Super 30 was announced the movie has grabbed eyeballs. Not only did the storyline intrigue the audience, but the controversies also became the talk of the town – from the director of Super 30 Vikas Bahl being accused in the #MeToo Movement to the release date of the film getting postponed.

Finally, after many ups and downs, Super 30 will see the light of the day as it will hit the screens on July 12, 2019. The film’s trailer and songs starring Hrithik Roshan and Mrunal Thakur are being loved by the audience.

Recently in an interview with Hindustan Times, Hrithik Roshan opened up about the rocky journey of Super 30 and Vikas Bahl’s sexual harassment allegations

Yes, the journey of Super 30 has been tough, but I would like to believe that it is worth it. When the #MeToo movement broke out and Vikas’ name cropped up, I was perhaps the first one to take a rather tough stand. I completely support this movement and I sincerely believe that exploitative attitude towards women must stop. if you think that this movement is the last step in achieving equality, then perhaps you are wrong. The pendulum of biases and injustice on both sides is going to swing back and forth quite a few times before it centres and comes to a standstill. Also, it’s important that we don’t make this process independent of law, and purely based on social media/conventional media hearsay. Let not the rhetoric become the mantra.

Vikas Bahl has been cleared of all sexual misconduct allegations. It was in October 2018, that a female crew member of the now-dissolved Phantom films had accused filmmaker Vikas Bahl of sexual misconduct during the promotional tour of Bombay Velvet in 2015.

The Kites actor further added,

Like everything else, this movement also has to follow the law of the land. Charges have to be pressed and substantiated in the proper manner. I may feel strongly about something, but we cannot take the law in our hands and dole out mob justice. Since a designated ICC committee has exonerated Vikas, we are not in a position to take away his credit.
