Hospitalised: Shibasish Sarkar, Reliance Entertainment CEO and Producer of Sooryavanshi, ‘83 Tests Corona Positive

The Coronavirus pandemic has claimed many lives so far. The number of positive cases are soaring high and the count has reached close to two lacs in India. Several Bollywood celebrities also tested positive for the novel virus including Kanika Kapoor, Zoa Morani, and Kiran Kumar to name a few. The celebs successfully battled COVID-19 and recovered from the deadly virus.

The latest name to join the list of celebrities affected by Coronavirus is Shibasish Sarkar, Reliance Entertainment Group CEO. This news comes as a shocker as Shibasish has tested positive for Coronavirus. Soon after his tests, he was rushed to the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital on Saturday after developing a fever.

When Mirror reached out to him, Shibasish confirmed the news: “Hospitalised currently in Kokilaben, but proper treatment is happening. Will get well soon.”

Shibasish is also bankrolling two big banner films: Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi and Ranveer Singh’s ‘83. Reportedly, he attended a webinar on Thursday in which he talked about the two big releases backed by Reliance Entertainment.

We wish Shibasish a speedy recovery.

Earlier last week, filmmaker Karan Johar had revealed that two members of his house staff had tested positive for coronavirus. He put out a statement on Twitter. “I’d like to inform you that 2 members of our household staff have tested positive for Covid-19. As soon as the symptoms were detected, they were put under quarantine in a section of our building. The BMC was informed immediately, and the building has been fumigated and sterilised by them as per the norms.”

 “The rest of us in the family and the staff are all safe and display no symptoms. We have all taken the swab test this morning and have tested negative, but will remain in self-isolation for the next 14 days for the safety of everyone around us. We stand by our commitment to safeguard everyone and have ensured that all measures prescribed by the authorities have been strictly adhered to,” the statement further read.

This news had come a few days after filmmaker Boney Kapoor's house help tested positive for Coronavirus.
