The star of the popular show 'Agar Tum Saath Ho', Hitesh Bhardwaj is one actor who is not just open to, but in fact, is in favour of the concept of finite series on Indian television.

When contacted he shared some interesting insights on why he feels that way. "I think there's a different fun in doing finite series, because an actor can perform freely, instead of being tied up. We know how the story ends and we can design the graph of the character accordingly. You know all the heroes and the negative characters and you can mould your character accordingly. Because with some infinite series, we as actors, don't know the ending. There can be a twist at any point of time and that's really very challenging. You can get a double role or you can end up playing a villain, so as an actor, you have to prepare yourself on the spot. Whereas with finite series, when you get your script in hand and when you get the entire narration, you can imagine your character till the end. That's the reason I loved doing a finite series this time."

Now, as Hitesh has finished shooting for his finite series 'Agar Tum Saath Ho', he says he is looking for interesting roles, but he'd never want to restrict himself, "I think as actors we should never pre-decide what kind of roles we want to do. Because, when you get roles beyond your comfort zone, like playing a gray, anti-hero, you should be ready for it. An actor is like a box - you fill anything in it and it reaches the audience through him/ her. So you have to keep the mould ready so that you can feel anything and it takes that shape. I love challenging roles the most, no matter if they are negative or positive."

That was about fiction shows, but what about reality shows? Would an actor of his caliber be up for them? He replies, "Well, I think I'll be good with hosting reality shows. I'll be always open to participate in a show like Jhalak Dhikhhla Jaa, but as a host. I would be better because I have done it before. I have worked as a RJ, an anchor and as a VJ on Channel V before."

An ambitious actor, Hitesh keeps the bigger picture in mind whenever he chooses any project. He reveals, "I would say that you shouldn't have career goals in your life. Whatever work I have done or I am doing, I always keep in mind that I am representing my country, India. For example, yesterday I received a message from the US where our show started airing and people there praised my acting. So ultimately, our career goals should be representing our nation."

Now that's what you call seeing the bigger picture. Way to go, Hitesh!
