Today marks the birthday of two versatile actors: the gorgeous Lolo i.e. Karisma Kapoor, and the handsome Aftab Shivdasani.

Kapoor was born in 1974 to Randhir Kapoor and Babita - both well known actors. She's the granddaughter of Raj Kapoor, elder sister to Kareena Kapoor Khan, and first cousin of Ranbir Kapoor and Armaan Jain.

Lolo studied at the Cathedral and John Connon School and continued in Sophia College for few months until she stepped into the world of Bollywood with Prem Qaidi in 1991 at the age of 17. She then appeared in successful films like Jigar (1992), Anari (1993), Raja Babu (1994), Andaz Apna Apna (1994), Suhaag (1995), Coolie No. 1 (1995) and Jeet (1996) but it was Raja Hindustani (1996) that brought her in the limelight and thereafter, she became one of the highest paid actress of the time. She also bagged her first Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her performance in Raja Hindustani (1996).

The following year Lolo appeared in Dil To Pagal Hai as Nisha and won a Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award and the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress. Kapoor's recent release was Dangerous Ishhq in 2012 which failed to impress the audience and the critics. Not many people know but she also gave her voice to Chhaya's (Kareena Kapoor Khan) character in Bodyguard (2011). Apart from films, the pretty lass supports many charities and endorses a lot of brands.

On the personal front, she was married to the industrialist Sanjay Kapoor and has a daughter, Samara, born on 11th March 2005, along with a son, Kiaan, born on 12th March 2010.
