Gustaakh Ishq Box Office Day 1: CRASHES hard due to Tere Ishk Mein and fails to cross Rs 1 crore

Dhanush and Kriti Sanon have entered the weekend with strong momentum as Tere Ishk Mein continues to draw audience interest across major cities. The Hindi version opened comfortably in the double digit bracket, a result that many bigger films have struggled to reach this year. The early response signals clear preference for this story during a crowded release window.

In contrast, Gustaakh Ishq has not been able to find similar visibility. The film arrived with a quieter presence and its first day total reached only Rs 0.50 crore. This difference has placed both releases on completely separate tracks at the box office.

A Tough Opening Day For Gustaakh Ishq

Gustaakh Ishq features Vijay Varma, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Naseeruddin Shah in prominent roles, along with Manish Malhotra stepping in as producer for the first time. Despite the cast and the appeal of a classic romance, the film could not compete with the scale of attention surrounding Tere Ishk Mein. The first day count of Rs 50 lakhs shows how limited the turnout was in both multiplexes and single screens.

Trade discussions note that the film might record a small rise on day two, as weekend viewing patterns usually create a mild push. However, the jump is expected to remain modest since Tere Ishk Mein is pulling the majority of footfalls and that dominance is likely to continue throughout Saturday and Sunday.

The Road Ahead For The Smaller Release

Gustaakh Ishq has been created on a budget of Rs 25 crore. Recovery through theatrical play alone appears difficult at the moment. Even if the film manages to reach Rs 10 crore eventually, the larger outcome will depend on rights sales and satellite value. For now, the theatrical outlook remains uncertain because the competition is heavy and the gap is increasing by the day.

Tere Ishk Mein, on the other hand, is preparing for stronger weekend totals. Early estimates suggest that both the second and third day will help it stretch the lead further. With this kind of traction, smaller films like Gustaakh Ishq face an uphill climb, especially when the audience gravitates firmly toward one title.
