Gul Khan FINALLY opens up about severe fan backlash for 'Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? 3'!

The producer-director is at the receiving end of fan hatred, which is just becoming indecent day after day.

Fans are a major part of any television show because obviously, these are the people who can MAKE as well as BREAK a show. It is these loyal viewers, who can help make a show an 'EPIC HIT' or a 'MAJOR FLOP'.

Sometimes, it so happens that the storyline of some shows does not shape up as expected by the audience. And their anger is then directed towards the writers, creatives and the producers of that particular show.

And that's exactly what is happening with Four Lions' producer, Gul Khan. Well... read on to know what's exactly happening.

Ever since television heartthrob Barun Sobti's 'Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? 3' was spoken about, the much-loved franchise has been under severe bashing from ardent 'Iss Pyaar Ko...' fans. And the reason for this has been the fact that actress Shivani Tomar has been chosen to play the female lead opposite Barun in the show.

When Barun and Sanaya played the leads in the first season of the franchise, they set the screens on fire with their crackling on screen chemistry. However, that season had to abruptly shut down because of Barun opting out of the show to make a career in films. There came a second season as well which had actors Shrenu Parikh and Avinash Sachdeva. But some fans are not really kicked up about the third season, simply because they do not want to see any other actress opposite Barun in place of Sanaya.

And this has got the producer Gul Khan, at the receiving end of the backlash. The fans of the show have been bashing her left, right and center for roping in 'another actress' opposite Barun. And these comments have been downright derogatory. Right from pointing fingers at Gul's professional credentials, to passing personal comments, the lady has had to face it all.

We got in touch with Gul and she tells us, "What can I say about the hate trolls! It's a bunch of faceless nameless people threatening you hiding behind fake names and false id's with no courage to come out in the open. Obviously, with the language they use and the class they reflect in their words, they wouldn't want their parents and families to see their real faces. I don't think it's worth our time! Let's talk about the show! It's a brand that we are taking forward and I am sure all the true fans of Sobti will watch it!"

That's the spirit Gul!

Here's a bit of advice for such abusive fans. Just because a producer is not catering to your whims and fancies, it does not give you the right to personally target him or her. You too would not appreciate, if you were put in the producer's spot. There are a lot of factors that go into making a show and NOT EVERYTHING, is in the hands of the producer.

i admit being in a producer shoes is really different but what i find ridiculous with this woman she forgets that fans give praise and fans destroy. normally you produce something for the viewer not for thee self...it seems this producer is hell bend in proving something negative.she finally seems to have an actor who she can pull n trigger that what i can see here.its okay for a new show wth the actor n new actress but demeaning things that she herself created feel deranged.
its her money she do whatever she wants and india forum can protect those they want.
she is nothing but an arrogant woman who success has gone up her head

I understand from both sides, Gul & IPKKND fans. It's not fun getting attacked from people, especially online. But as a fan, it is hard to see a great series being casted with the same male lead but totally different cast is hard. Instead of calling out fans as hate trolls and whatnot, what Gul did was wrong on so many levels. These people, viewers/fans, were the ones that was able to make the first season popular. They hyped up the first season because they loved it, yet Gul had the audacity to call them names just because they stated their opinion. I'm not saying all are innocent, especially those that attacked her personally, but to call the ones that stated their criticisms names is very arrogant of her. Without the fans and viewers then she wouldn't be popular, let alone making any money. Instead of being such a jerk about IPKKND fans being angry about the 3rd season, she should just accept it, acknowledge it and respond back to it professionally instead of acting like a child with terrible word choice. This just show how unprofessional she is as a producer. How disappointing.

It is the craftsmanship that matters. Even Barun or Sanaya can't save the show, if the script is below average. No one can go on pairup Sarun always.So,grow up fans.

b im not a SaRun fan... but knowing their fanbase im seriously surprised over Gul's decision to bring back show with only one lead..
if she could not manage to bring back sarun then i guess there was no point of bringing back the show with season 3... she could have casted barun in new show instead...
this is so obvious that fans would get fierce... if i were at their place, i'd felt same...
again.. although im not SaRun fan but i hope the fans get their couple back together soon :) /b

Can't help but comment again after repeatedly watching the promo on star. Gul needs to understand that Rabba ve soundtrack is associated with Sarun. If you don't want to change the title.. fine but Do Not Use That Soundtrack!!
A piece of advise to Gul. Don't let success get to your head..ignore the negative and pay heed to constructive criticism given. Some of the comments on her interview comes off being arrogant and it's sadly disappointing to see IF get supportive just to be in good pages with her.
Also to fandom, totally get some of your POV but let's not get abusive. Keep the pressure on.. but in the right way. All said and done... no one can stop viewership..and Gul is catering well to that. The only one getting effected is die hard fans of IPKKND. If the craze is as intense as the time when they got the show shut, maybe they might be an effect. Else all this is waters off a ducks back!
