GHKKPM's Shafaq Naaz reacts on being trolled for wearing western outfits post playing Kunti in ‘Mahabharat'

Shafaq Naaz has an impressive body of work in her kitty. From acing comedy to mythological shows and daily soap drama, she has done it all. The actress is also known for her no-nonsense attitude and being straight forward. The actress is currently seen in Star Plus show 'Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin' as Shruti.

Social media sometimes become a cruel place. People are judged, criticized and trolled on a drop of a hat. Shafaq too has been on a receiving end of trolls as she posted a few pictures in her western outfits. A section of fans criticized her for the same and stated that she shouldn’t wear such clothes as she played the role of ‘Kunti Maa’ in Star Plus show ‘Mahabharat’.

In an interview with ETimes, Shafaq said, “I don’t regret playing Kunti Mata and will essay it again if I am offered the part. I have lived and loved that character. My only grievance is that people should know that it was a character I played. They must not forget the actual person or let it overshadow everything else I have done on the professional front. I was just 21 when I played the part. It is really funny that when I post a picture wearing skirt or other western clothes, I get messages like, ‘Kunti Mata, what are you wearing? These clothes don’t suit you’. A lot of people have followed me just because they can’t see me now dressed in modern clothes.”

She further stated, “Honestly, it is my profile and my life. I will do whatever I want to do. I genuinely don’t care as I know that I am not doing anything wrong, putting up anything vulgar, or crossing the line. But it can be quite disturbing and annoying after a point.”
