General Secretary of CINTAA opens up about Tanushree-Nana controversy

Sushant Singh, the General Secretary of CINTAA revealed about receiving a response letter from Nana

With the #MeToo movement gaining momentum in India, many actresses have been outspoken about the issues they have faced in the industry.

However, there has been no legal action executed against the accused. No sooner, Cine and TV Artists' Association (CINTAA) president Vikram Gokhale, general secretary Sushant Singh and senior joint secretary Amit Behl held a press conference to discuss the #MeToo movement, where they revealed that Nana Patekar had responded to a notice sent to him by the body.

According to the reports in Mumbai Mirror, the response from Nana stated that the 'allegations leveled by Tanushree Dutta against him are baseless and false'. He also mentioned that he is in the process of taking legal action against the actress.

As Mumbai Mirror tried reaching out to Sushant Singh, he denied CINTAA sending a notice to Nana, but admitted that the association had received a response from the actor two-three days ago.

During the interaction, Sushant also added, "The police investigation is on in the matter, so we can't reveal the letter's contents, just like we didn't share Tanushree's (Dutta, who has levelled sexual harassment allegations against Nana) complaint or any other communication whatsoever in the past. This is between CINTAA and its members and not for public consumption."
