Gaurav Khanna on Anupamaa breaking stereotypes: It is nice to be a part of a show that expresses change

There is no doubting the fact that Anupamaa has been about breaking multiple stereotypes. While the show is currently standing strong at the top spot, it is also the content that is winning. India Forums spoke to Gaurav Khanna about what he thinks on being a part of content that attempts to break stereotypes.

Ask him how refreshing is it for him as an actor to work out on such content, right from a second marriage or things in the society, among other things, he says,

''I feel that change is inevitable, whether you like it or not, things will change with time and if you adapt, you will survive. The species who did, did survive. There's no right or wrong in it, and you have to accept the thing, and that's life. With the whole world, the exposure, the social media, the new audience is very aware and conscious of the scenario. 10 or 15 years ago, people were not very abreast with the knowledge in the whole world, but now, even a 7-8 year old in a small town, has some knowledge about the world.''

He adds,

''So similarly, this is the new generation we are catering to and these people are going to be the society right. It is nice to be a part of a show that expresses change, we are not taking sides, we are going ahead with the story, showing the change in the character's life, and showing the circumstances and nuances, what a person takes form it is a person's sensibility. As an actor, I am very happy that Rajan gave me a chance. More than that, the viewers have accepted it, so yes, I am also thankful to the viewers and they accepted the character and beautifully pushed the character, because it all comes to the numbers on Thursday and Friday. ''

Meanwhile, Gaurav's character of Anuj Kapadia has most definitely won hearts and how. The actor continues to receive a lot of love and has in fact, only managed to embrace for himself, a huge fan following with this character.
