Gaurav Khanna of Anupamaa: I never felt any pressure because I am not a newcomer

Gaurav Khanna aka Anuj Kapadia from Anupamaa has carved a name for himself and a difficult space with the show. While the actor has been around for the longest time, he has found a different kind of recognition with this role and along with it, also comes responsibility.

India Forums spoke to Gaurav and asked him if he ever feels any kind of pressure to keep up the numbers given the TRP topper that this show has been. And about that, he says,

"I think a little pressure is always good, and I feel the focus is more when there is an added pressure applied and I think it is not a bad space to be in. With the kind of love and affection that the show has, and it was famous even before the character of Anuj entered, but I agree that post the character's entry it went to a different dimension. So, I never felt or thought of the pressure then and I don't feel it now because I am not a newcomer, on the contrary to what people think."

He adds,

"A lot of people don't recognise me from my earlier shows and characters but that's the idea, I don't want people to remember Gaurav, I want the character to be remembered. I come from such a school of acting that I give my best shot every day, I don't feel too much and don't take pressures about who I am working with. Once the director says action, in my head, to keep myself motivated, I always say that I will give my best shot."

Meanwhile, the show has also gotten a prequel for itself and with that, become a one of its kind to get a prequel while the show is running on television. Anupamaa also features Rupali Ganguly, Sudhanshu Pandey, Paras Kalnawat, among others in pivotal roles.
