New Delhi, Aug 30 (IANS) Popular television actor Gaurav Chopra is making a comeback to fiction shows with Colors' 'Uttaran' as a rich and suave business tycoon.
Gaurav, who was last seen in 'Pati Patni Aur Woh' with his girlfriend, actress Mouni Roy, will play Raghuvendra Pratap Rathore aka Rocky.
'Rocky's character is extremely intriguing and I'm glad I got the opportunity to portray this character. I haven't played this kind of a role before and I couldn't possibly refuse such an excellent offer when it came along,' Gaurav said in a press statement.
The actor is being introduced as a new character, who will be a source of strength for one of the female leads Tapasya, played by Rashmi Desai.
The current track of the show is about how Tapasya is coping up after her misdeeds are revealed by her husband Veer (Nandish Sandhu). She has lost the support of her family, and she is left homeless and emotionally shattered. This is where Rocky's character comes in the picture.
Gaurav has been having a great time working with the 'Uttaran' team.
'Rocky is slated to be a very strong and important character on the show. He will play a huge role in defining the turn the story line will take. The cast of the show is awesome, a great bunch of people to hang out with. We've already hit it off pretty well, it's going to be a party on the sets everyday,' he added.
'Uttaran' airs Monday-Friday on Colors.
Iqbal Khan aims fitness during Ramadan
Iqbal Khan, who is among the best looking actors on the small screen, is hoping that fasting during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan will help him get back in good shape.
'Ramzan with its day-time fasting is the ideal time to get in shape. With practically no carbohydrates during the day and a good helping of the scrumptious protein-rich chicken biryani after sunset, I'm pretty confident I'll get leaner and fitter along with my strenuous workouts,' said Iqbal.
The actor, who became famous after 'Kaisa Yeh Pyaar Hai', is seen in Zee TV's 'Sanjog Se Bani Sangini' these days. His shooting schedule is often packed, leaving him with little time for exercise.
He is a member of a popular gym in Mumbai's Bandra that stays open 24 hours. That gives him the opportunity to even pump iron during the wee hours.
Reality show contestant gifts prayer mat to Salman
Pakistan-based Khurram, a contestant on Zee TV's 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar', is a die-hard fan of Salman Khan. And when the superstar visited the sets of the show, the young talent gifted him an ornate prayer mat.
Apparently, Khurram has not yet missed a single Salman film and knows all his famous dialogues by heart.
A source from the sets informed that Khurram was so excited on the day of Salman's visit that he did not break his Ramadan fast. He waited for Salman, his 'god' to come and offer him his day's first bite.
Salman fulfilled Khurram's wish and gave him a piece of date to break his fast. And in return, Khurram gave him the prayer mat as a token of his love and appreciation.
The special episode featuring Salman will be aired Saturday.
