Bollywood seems to be scoring of late with story concepts related to sports. While 'Chak De India' gave the game of hockey its much needed recognition, 'Goal' got the audience football-crazy. Not to forget, are films 'Lagaan' and 'Iqbaal' which
added a new flavor to the most passionate game of the country, cricket.

Now, the trend that has been catching on is the 'Game of Carrom', which started with 'Munnabhai MBBS', when the game of carom was made popular among the viewers. Following this trend is 'Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon' fame Chandan Arora, who is ready with a story on a carom striker. The film, aptly titled 'Striker' hopes to recreate history, by taking this not so popular indoor game to all the houses in India.

The film based on a true story that happened in Mumbai, has the 'Rang De Basanti' fame actor Sidharth playing the reel life version of Suryakant, a famous carom player, who resides in the Malvan slum area in Mumbai.

Apart from being the second film of Sidharth in Hindi, "Striker" is important in many other reasons. The film will screen South Indian actress Padma Priya for the first time in Hindi, and the cast also includes 'Chak De' famed goal keeper, Vidya Malvade. Anupam Kher, Seema Bishwas and model Nicolate Bard are also part of the cast.

After Mir Ranjan Negi, it's now time for Suryakant who lives in the Malvan slum area in Mumbai to reach the pinnacle of success, and as Chandan Arora strikes to making the game of carom popular among masses, we wish this film really does well at the box-office.
