From Gigi Hadid, Kris Jenner to Choupette (The Cat): How Karl Lagerfeld Was Remembered on First Death Anniversary!

Amidst the ongoing Fashion Week extravaganza in Milan, international celebrities have paid tribute to late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld on his first death anniversary.

On 19 February 2019, Karl left for heavenly abode after silently fighting pancreatitis. A day that left fashion enthusiasts mourning. Today as it is exactly a year since the designer passed away, Karl’s muses and more recall him through heartfelt posts.

Sharing a picture with Karl, top international model Gigi Hadid writes, “Karl (heart emoji) we miss you so much!”

Model and actress, Poppy Delevingne remembered Karl by sharing a throw back picture, where she is seen wearing a white lace gown. Poppy wrote, “Remembering you today, & this dress of dreams you made for me. (bird emoji) @karllagerfeld

Famed fashion journalist and Vogue Editor, Anna Wintour took to her social media handle remembering that it has been exactly a year since the designer left his void in the industry. Anna wrote, “It’s been one year since we lost the legend himself.”

A series of famed fashion personalities that included Olivia Palermo, Cara Delevingne, Kate Moss, Tommy Hilfiger and more took to Karl Lagerfeld’s namesake social media handle, to pay their little tribute to the designer.

Sharing a close picture with Karl Lagerfeld, the Kardashian and Jenner matriarch wrote, “It will always be one of the greatest honors and joys of my life to have known you, and worked with you, and I loved every minute of it @karllagerfeld. You still inspire so many, especially me... you are deeply missed. (emojis) #karllagerfeld #memories #love

One of the most touching tributes, was from Karl’s cat Choupette. Francoise Cacote, Karl’s former housekeeper and now a proud owner of Karl’s lovely feline. Francoise took to the cat’s official social media handle to write a long but lovely note addressing how much she misses Lagerfeld. 

Here’s what the note reads like:

“Dear daddy 

It’s been a year since you've not been here, time flies so quickly...

I learned to live with the weight of your absence, not a day goes by without me thinking of you, of us, of all those happy memories spent near to you. 

Thank you for the love you have given me for these joys that you have brought me, thank you for being you, a unique and exceptional man.

Cindy Crawford's daughter too shared sweet memories remembering the designer. 

With all the fashion week’s coming along, it is but natural that all the labels that Lagerfeld was once part of will pay tribute to him and his art. Last year, after the news reached his fans, they all left flowers, notes and momentos outside stores in Paris.
