Earlier, this day Twitterati were upset over Sony TV’s popular show, Kaun Banega Crorepati over a question asked by the show's host Amitabh Bachchan. In the last episode of KBC, host Amitabh asked a historical question to a contestant which enraged the viewers.
The question asked was, “Which of these rulers was the contemporary of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb?” and the options given were A. Maharana Pratap, B. Rana Sanga, C. Maharaja Ranjit Singh, D. Shivaji
One of the options ‘D. Shivaji’ enraged the audience who took to Twitter to criticize the show and the host for calling Aurangzeb an Emperor while didn’t addressing Shivaji as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who was one of the great kings in India.
This did not go well with the viewers and they took on to twitter and started the trend Boycott KBC. However, Sony TV issued an apology on their social media account and tweeted, "There was an inaccurate reference to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj during Wednesday’s KBC episode, due to inadvertence. We deeply regret the same and being mindful of the sentiments of our viewers have carried a scroll expressing regret during our episode yesterday."
The apology surely did led a change of the behaviour in the audience and their opinion about the show changed as well as they started the trend Thankyou Sony TV.
