From Ayushmann to Kangana – B-townies offer support to Priyanka over her Jai Hind tweet!

Bollywood actors like Ayushmann Khurrana, Kangana Ranaut, Anupriya Goenka, Divya Dutta and Madhur Bhandarkar have broken come out in support of Priyanka Chopra Jonas, when most of the people are criticizing her. The 37-year-old actress has been in the line of fire after being called out for a controversial Jai Hind tweet after the Balakot Airstrike.

Talking about the same Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana, spoke at an event held for celebrating Andhadhun’s success. He said, “I guess Priyanka Chopra represents our country really well and she is not just an Indian icon, she is a global icon. Being a daughter of an army officer, I believe she is truly a very good representative of India.”

Anupriya Goenka, who was seen in movies like Padmaavat and Tiger Zinda Hai, said, "Priyanka is someone I really respect; she has put us on the global chart. I think that she deserves to be where she is today. And I believe if she has been chosen to be ambassador then there is a reason for it, that she signifies something. There are a lot of people, who look up to her, women and men alike in India. So, I think she is the best idol to have that way. Somebody who people look up to, therefore kudos for where she is today."

Divya Dutta too backed the 37-year-old actor-singer and said, "I will stand up with Priyanka for whatever she does and I think she has done very good job."

Kangana Ranaut, who shared the screen space with PeeCee in Fashion said, “It’s not an easy choice to make... when you are stuck between your duty and your emotions, being a UNICEF goodwill ambassador sure you can’t limit your identity to one nation, but how many of us choose heart over mind every day.” 

In an exclusive interview with Etimes, Madhur said, "I feel what Priyanka Chopra has done is basically what any Indian would have done. She is holding an Indian passport, she is a global star today and there is nothing wrong in wishing the Armed forces. I don't know why controversy is being created over this. 

"I think post Article 370 being scrapped, they are completely rattled and that's the reason why they don’t want PeeCee to be a global ambassador. But I feel she is a global star; she went to Sudan also to help people and kids there, so if she won’t wish our Armed forces on Republic Day or Independence Day then who will? I think, the whole controversy has emerged post the demolition of Article 370 and it should not be given any importance. She made us proud on a global platform and identifies with us."
