Following mom Sridevi’s footsteps, Janhvi Kapoor to do South Films?

Janhvi Kapoor, who made her debut with Shashank Khaitan's Dhadak opposite Ishaan Khattar, is here in the showbiz to stay! The 22-year-old actress already has five big films in her kitty and is currently super busy prepping for it. With the release of Dostana 2 this year and Gunjan Saxena Biopic, Roohi Afza opposite Rajkummar Rao, Takht, and Rannbhoomi awaiting in the next year, Janhvi has her calendars full. However, the grapevines suggest that the young star is keen on doing South films as well!

Janhvi is all set to match footsteps with her mom Sridevi, who prevailed the South film industry. As per a source, the Dhadak actress has been receiving offers from the South even before her Bollywood debut. Interestingly, she is considering some of them, reported Deccan Chronicle.

The source further added that many filmmakers from the South were keen to launch Janhvi for her debut, but she chose to be launched in Hindi cinema first. 

Meanwhile, Janhvi’s father Boney Kapoor too recently produced a South film Nerkonda Paarvai, which is a remake of the Bollywood film Pink. In a statement, he also said that this film will be an ode to Sridevi. A source close to the filmmaker reveals, “Boney would be more than happy to see Janhvi doing films down South, considering it was her mother’s territory when she started off.” 

Reportedly, Janhvi is in talks to be paired opposite Vijay Deverakonda for a film. On the work front, her next romantic-comedy Dostana 2 opposite Kartik Aaryan is slated to release on 4 December 2019.
