FINALLY! Aatish Kapadia opens up on how 'Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai Take 2' actually FARED

J D Majethia and Aatish Kapadia are happy people and must be rejoicing the fact that Khichdi has opened to such love and appreciation everywhere. The long wait ended last week, when the show was revived after a hiatus of 13 years, and the hype and expectations were totally justified.

But, as known, this is not the only revival that JD and Aatish enabled. The much-loved Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai made a comeback too last year, in the form of a sequel, Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai Take 2. The show, however, unlike Khichdi was not for TV, but for the web.

The only difference between the two shows has been how Khichdi has been the way it was without any leap, or characters aging; while Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai Take 2 practiced a 7 year leap and showed aged characters.

It will almost be a year since Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai Take 2 went live on Hotsar on 16th May 2017 and launched 10 episodes every week.

There, however, hasn't been much talk about the response on the web show, as one doesn't get the actual numbers. So, in a conversation with Aatish Kapadia, we asked him about the response to Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai Take 2.

To this, he said, "The response, genuinely was tremendous. We may think that the initial episodes would garner a lot of views, as they have the hype and surprise element. And that, if the audience doesn't like it, they don't watch the next episodes. For us, infact, it was the opposite, where Episodes 4-8 went on to become more watched than the first few. So, overall, we couldn't have been happier with the response to the show."

Let's hope, we get a Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai Take 3 soon.

Sarabhai's season 2 wpuld have been just fine if tht had made episodes based on the last epi of season 1, the crystal ball and prophecies.

They changed the whole setup of Sarabhai. First Mohnisha was not even a proper middle class. She didn't do any house hold chores. Noe, she is shown with a sewing machine. Her dressing sense got better while Maya lost her fashion sense.

Where is Vitthal, where is Radha bai? Maya had servants all her life. She didn't want a third chils because her servants were on leave and her other two children were too young. This was her explanation to Rosesh in S1

Rosesh is still a struggling actor. Seriously in TV world at this age he will play Grandpa roles only. Instead he could have been a columnist or ad maker or a director. Common, 10 years later he is still unmarried and jobless.

Got Madhusudhan Fufa but forgot his wife. Sonia aleays knew she has married a weird man but still loved him. Now, she is as weird as him. Overall, sarabhai S2 was half baked, no research was done,no proper storywas written and was made because fans asked for it. As a matter of fact s1 had one story per epi. S2 didnt have this.

Sarabhai vs Sarabhai Take 2 was actually better than Khichdi Season 3!!!!

One hour gets tedious after a while!!!Plus why does the timeline has to be reset every time??

We watched Himanshu's wedding to Parminder in Instant Khichdi right down to her getting pregnant with twins!!!!

Only to have to watch their wedding again in the movie!!!

And now in the new season again the timeline has been reset and Himanshu and Parminder are not married!!!!

I am also missing Raj and Melissa!!!

b Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai Take 2 was a disaster to the original show.
I have my fingers crossed in hope that same doesn't happen with Khichdi. Thankfully Khichdi is doing very well so far. /b

and actually now i want b'town to divide between age group
i love khans and all aged actors but they should be paired with the existing leading ladies like kareena,deepika,priyanka etc
they are all awesome
and let the new brigade work with each other as they suit with each other only
also i am seeing lovely bond between all newbies

I think at the end of the day there are some things that Directors, Actors and Producers just THINK about. All the newbies should not be paired up with the old timers. I don't care how much they've worked on their bodies and what work they've had done- there is no need for Alia to work with any of the Khans as a leading love interest. Sister yes but not a love interest.

The Khans are the Kings but I do think it's time for the male roles to transition out somewhat, we need more Sid, Varun, ARC, Ranbir etc. No offence Khan Lovers, but you know what I mean right? It's time for them to move forward like their counterparts Madhuri, Juhi, Raveena etc..
