Father-to-be Gaurav Bajaj Talks About Playing An 'Emotional Father' in 'Meri Gudiya'!

Amidst the deluge of supernatural shows on television, Star Bharat has come up with a brand new show, Meri Gudiya that explores a completely new side of paranormal. Starring Aalisha Panwar and Gaurav Bajaj in lead roles, the show revolves around a special relationship between a mother and daughter, where the catalyst between their relationship is a doll. 

Earlier, we presented before you an exclusive interview with Aalisha. Recently, we got in touch with Gaurav who spoke about Meri Gudiya, fatherhood and much more. 

A couple of promos are out and the story looks interesting, however we haven’t seen you in them yet. Why is it so?

Well, they say don’t judge a book by it’s cover and a chocolate by it’s wrapper. The story of the show is amazing and has elements of fantasy which I am sure will attract the attention of viewers. See, the way we are going to promote the show and the promos and all were already decided. Our agenda is to sell the story and not just the faces in the story. 

The story is about a family that consists of a father, mother and child and how the child connects to her mother is something special to look forward to. I’m playing a widower, who is a successful businessman and takes care of her daughter both as a mother and father. 

This is the first time you’re a part of a supernatural show. Why did you choose the genre?

Yes, it’s my first supernatural show and frankly I was looking forward to doing one since a long time and Meri Gudiya’s script was just perfect. In the show, I’m a little away from the fantasy world in the beginning, yet somehow will be connected in the long run. Also, I wanted to play a father with a very prominent character, and all these things have come together very well for me, so I’m excited to be a part of the show. I’m trying to make people believe that I can play an emotional father very well too, given my earlier performances, this is something different for me.  

You’re about to become a father in real life, how is that feeling?

It’s an incredible feeling and hard to describe in words. It’s an amazing feeling and nothing to be nervous and confused about it, I’m just enjoying it. It again depends on the person, the father-to-be. How he is taking the journey. I’m more excited than Sakshi and I’m just waiting to hold my little baby in my hands. 

How is working with Aalisha in the show?

Oh, she is an amazing actress and a strong performer and even in the promo you can see that she has given such a wonderful voice over. When I see her performing, it is very helpful and though we don’t have many scenes together but I really enjoy her performance.
