Faruk Kabir on ‘377 AbNormal’ bagging Hitlist Web Award: I’m very proud of this heartfelt film

It’s not long ago this year that the film Khuda Haafiz starring Vidyut Jammwal became one of the most watched films of 2020 with raging reviews from all quarters. And now, the director Faruk Kabir has won another laurel for his acclaimed n Multi award winning film “377 Ab-Normal.”

The film has now also won the Best Web Film award in the first edition of the Hitlist Web Awards. Sharing how he feels about winning yet another award for his film, Faruk says, “I feel blessed to receive this Award for 377 AbNormal. I’m very proud of this heartfelt film. Making a multi-plot narrative is one of the most difficult genres to attempt. I’m thankful to my mother for her constant support, to Tarun Katyal, to mid-day and the audience that voted for it.”

Faruk started working on the film soon after the abolishment of Section 377 in 2018. The ZEE5 Original starring Sid Makkar, Maanvi Gagroo, Tanvi Azmi, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Kumud Mishra and Shashank Arora was inspired by true events and revolves around petitioners who challenged Section 377 to decriminalise homosexuality in India.
