Farhan Akhtar Donates 1000 PPE Kits to Mumbai Hospitals to Fight Coronavirus

Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar has come forward to extend his help to the healthcare workers amid the COVID-19 pandemic. He has contributed 1000 personal protective equipment (PPE) kits to Mumbai hospitals and medico workers fighting strongly against the novel virus.

Irrfan recorded a video message and announced that he is donating the PPE kits to the hospitals and he also urged others to contribute for the good cause. He also mentioned that he will send a personalised note to every person who comes forward to donate and do their bit.

Sharing the video, the actor took to Twitter to announce that he "personally" has contributed 1000 PPE kits to the government hospitals and also appealed to the people to donate as much as they can. 

“Help our COVID 19 warriors. I am personally donating 1000 PPE kits which are in need across India for our doctors/medical staff. For ur contribution, I’ll send u a personal thanks by mention/video shout/video call for ur generosity” he wrote.

Further, Farhan also shared details of the cost of the PPE kits and said: "Every PPE kit cost Rs 650, and they will be provided to the hospitals most in need."

He also shared the link of the website where people can visit and donate PPE kits to the corona warriors. "And for your donation, I would like to personally thank you. Either through a mention on a post, recorded video, or a video call," the actor said.

Besides Farhan Akhtar, actor Vidya Balan and Sonakshi Sinha are also raising funds for donating PPE kits to healthcare workers.
