Ayodhya

The years of turmoil ended today, as the Supreme Court has finally made the judgement over the long-awaited case on Ayodhya’s old Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land. While India was divided due to the disputed land Supreme Court’s final decision aimed at ending the religious unrest once and for all.

A 5-judge bench comprising CJI Ranjan Gogoi, Justice SA Bobde, JusticeDY Chandrachud, Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice Abdul Nazeer started pronouncing the long pending Ayodhya verdict.

According to ET, the Supreme Court said, “Title cannot be established by faith and belief. Sunni board wants possession of the masjid as a public mosque. Board claim is within time. They claim it was long, continuous and uninterrupted. But the court says it was never uninterrupted and constantly contested by the Hindus.”

While the decision was about to be announced, many Bollywood celebrities took to their twitter handle and urged the citizens to respect the Supreme Court’s decision and maintain peace and harmony. 

PM Narendra Modi also took to his official Twitter handle and shared a Tweet for his fellow citizens. He tweeted, “The Supreme Court will rule on Ayodhya tomorrow. In the last few months, there was continuous hearing on this issue and the whole country was following it with curiosity. While the hearing was on, all sections of the society made efforts to maintain a harmonious atmosphere which is highly appreciated.”
