Even Delhi Metro takes a dig at Masakali 2.0, Says ‘Nothing beats the original track’!

Sidharth Malhotra and Tara Sutaria’s recent remake Masakali 2.0 has received undivided attention and without a doubt, the audience is unhappy with it. However, it would be ok if the audience is unhappy with it but now, even Delhi Metro is unhappy with the new remake and they even followed A.R. Rahman’s footsteps. Eventually, Masakali 2.0 ended up getting slammed from DMRC as well. 

The latest shots have been fired by the official Twitter account of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. Sharing the original song on Friday, the DMRC wrote in a tweet that it was biased towards AR Rahman’s track because the metro was featured in the film Delhi-6. The tweet read, “Nothing beats the original track, plus we have a bias as we feature in it.”

In a recent interview, Singer Mohit Chauhan took a dig at the remake and said, “This reeks of greed. I understand that movies and music are made to make money, but they exist in the first place because of the creative process right? If there’s no creativity then how will you get songs of Roja or Rockstar or numbers like Tum Se Hi or Dooba Dooba? The creative process needs to be respected”

Rahman, who composed the original as part of the Delhi-6 soundtrack, in a tweet dismissed the new song, composed by Tanishk Bagchi. He wrote, “No short cuts, properly commissioned, sleepless nights, writes and re-writes. Over 200 musicians, 365 days of creative brainstorming with the aim to produce music that can last generations. A team of a Director, a Composer and a Lyricist supported by actors, dance directors and a relentless film crew - Lots of love and prayers A.R. Rahman.”

The most hilarious tweet came from the Jaipur police who threatened those breaking curfew with Masakali 2.0 ‘on a loop’. The force’s tweet read, “If you are unnecessarily roaming outside we will put you in a room and play Masakali 2.0 on loop.”
