New Delhi, April 8 (IANS) Bringing myriad hues of European cinema, the 20th European Union Film Festival (EUFF) began in the capital on Wednesday. The festival brings a repertoire of 21 award-winning European films.
EUFF 2015 was inaugurated by Joao Cravinho, ambassador of the European Union to India in the presence of Aivars Groza, ambassador of Latvia to India and Magdalena Cruz YÃ¡bar, deputy head of mission, Embassy of Spain with the screening of the Latvian film "Pizzas" at the Instituto Cervantes, Connaught Place here, read a statement.
"Films give us glimpses into the life and times of people they portray and help break barriers of languages to bring people together across the world," Cravinho said in a statement.
Organised by the delegation of the European Union and Embassies of EU Member States with the support of the Federation of Film Societies of India, EUFF is being held at the Instituto Cervantes, India Habitat Centre and at Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre here from April 8 to 20.
The film festival, which is currently ongoing in Chennai and Delhi, will further traverse through Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Coimbatore and Jodhpur over the next four months.
