Erica Fernandes: I am not a birthday resolution person but hope to grow mentally stronger this year

Erica Fernandes is celebrating her birthday today as she turns a year older. Talk to Erica about her plans, and as it turns out, her day is going to be quite busy as she is traveling for work and also, believes that one's safety is more important. We got in touch with the Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 actress where she got talking to us about her plans, COVID-19, and what's in store on the work front.

What kind of a birthday person are you?

I have always been very quiet and reserved when it comes to my birthday. I prefer sweet and simple celebrations over loud and big parties. Celebrating and spending time with my close friends, family and near and dear ones is what I enjoy doing the most. I also love travelling on my birthday. Over the years I have managed to visit various places outside the city and country on my birthday which have been amazing birthday celebrations for me. 

This is going to be a second birthday spent at home, to what extent does it bother you?

I am actually travelling to Hyderabad today for an upcoming shoot, so my day is going to be very packed with travel and other things, but if I were to stay at home as well, it wouldn't bother me because staying put at home in these times is the right thing to do for everybody's safety, be it a birthday or not! 

With COVID-19 worries, how do you plan on celebrating?

There are no concrete celebrations this year as I am heading to Hyderabad for a shoot. Though I did bring in my birthday last night with a mini celebration at home with only my family. 

A birthday ritual that you have maintained?

Traveling to different destinations and being out of the city on my birthday has always been a kind of a ritual that I enjoy, and I hope I can travel on my next birthday if the pandemic is well in control by then. 

Any resolution that you wish to achieve this year? 

I am not a birthday resolution person, but I really hope to grow, evolve and work on being a lot more mentally stronger this year and ensuring that I strike the right balance between my physical and mental wellbeing which is very important through these tough times. 

On the professional front, how do you see things working out for you?

There are a few exciting projects in the pipeline, but ones I will only be able to speak about in the near future.
