Does Ek Bhram - Sarvagun Sampann Has a Tamil Connection? We Try To Connect The Dots!

Shrenu Parikh and Zain Imam starrer Ek Bhram - Sarvagun Sampann released recently and now fans have started speculating if the show is inspired from a certain Tamil show; here’s our small analysis…

Ek Bhram - Sarvagun Sampann

Last week, Shrenu Parikh and Zain Imam starrer Ek Bhram Sarvagun Sampann hit our Television screens and viewers are already getting hooked to the show, all thanks to the intriguing plot and Shrenu’s performance. And much before the show released, it started creating abuzz.

At first, there were speculations about the show being inspired from true stories of high profile families in India. Later, the show was again in the news when the makers launched the show at the Saas Bahu Temple in Udaipur. Now again, the plot of the show has become a hot topic of discussion.

Fans at India Forums are speculating that the plot of the Ek Bhram… is inspired from a Tamil show titled Anandham. So, we did a little research of both the shows and here is our analysis.

The Plot:

Ek Bhram : Sarvagun Sampann is a Star Plus show, produced by Producer and writer Deepti Kalwani under her banner Sunny Side Up. As we know, the main story of Ek Bhram : Sarvagun Sampann centres around Jhanvi Mittal (Shrenu Parikh) who pretends to be an ideal daughter-in-law but has evil intentions against her family owing to some unknown reasons.

Anandham was a Tamil daily soap which aired on Sun TV. The show ran for six long years from 2003 to 2009. It was a family drama with all the elements of entertainment from business rivalries to romance and murders. The main plot focused on the lead character, Shanthi’s story, who was a widow remarried to the son of a businessman and struggled for acceptance in her husband’s family. Like every story, this one too, had a vamp named Abhirami, the businessman’s elder daughter-in-law. Abhirami had married into that family only to harm the businessman and his sons.

Similarities:

Jhanvi (Shrenu Parikh) and Abhirami’s character traits and intentions are alike.

Both of them had married to harm their in-laws.

Like Jhanvi, Abhirami too wanted to get her sister married to her brother-in-law in the Anandham.

Differences

In Ek Bhram : Sarvagun Sampann, Shrenu Parikh is playing both the protagonist and antagonist and the show is completely focused on Shrenu’s characters while Anandham’s story revolved around it’s lead Shanthi, a positive character all throughout the show.

Conclusion

Yes, we can say, Ek Bhram is 'loosely' inspired from Anandham  albeit with some new elements and twists in.

It is almost copy here too.. Even in Anandham, Karthika marries Shanthi just like Kabir married Kavya here. And the reasons are same, Shanti/Kavya's husband is best friend of Karthika/Kabir and took the bullet to save Karthik/Kabir..
