Dipika Kakar's track in 'Sasural Simar Ka 2' is over, says producer Pavan Kumar

Following the success of sequel Saath Nibhana Saathiya 2, it seemed to have spawned a trend of having previously successful and long-running shows make a return to television. While Balika Vadhu 3 is already in the works, a show like Sasural Simar Ka 2 has already been on-air for a while. And it isn't just the idea of having these sequels a trend that is going strong but having the original leads return to the sequels is yet another trend that followed.

Just like SNS2, actor Dipika Kakar aka the original Simar returned to the sequel and has been a part of the show for over a couple of months now. But it can now be confirmed that Kakar's track in the show is over and she has exited. Producer of the show, Pavan Kumar confirmed the same as he said, "The track is over for now. Dipika is our original Simar and she is like family for us. We have worked with her for a long time in Sasural Simar Ka and it has been a happy association."

Talking about how he plans to take things ahead post her exit, he said, "We are creative people and don't work for ratings. Most of our shows have had a slow start in the beginning and then they have picked up so well, that they ran for years. Sasural Simar Ka 2 also has a good story and it will prove to be even more entertaining in the coming months."

As we know, apart from Kakar, the show has  Radhika Muthukumar, Avinash Mukherjee, Tanya Sharma and Karan Sharma playing lead roles alongside Jayati Bhatia reprising her role from the original.
