Dhadak Director Shashank Khaitan Deactivates his Twitter handle, calls it "a Breeding ground for Hate and Negativity"

In a shocking turn of events, Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput ended his life by committing suicide on Sunday, June 14 2020. The entire nation is shocked by his untimely demise which has left the fans numbed and they have been mourning the loss of a talented actor.

Since Sunday, there has been a massive uprising on the social space front and several celebrities are trying to create awareness through their social media handle. 

Meanwhile, director Shashank Khaitan who is known for his films like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Dhadak recently made a shocking announcement. The filmmaker has said that he is deactivating his Twitter handle.

He shared a screenshot of the last tweet from his Instagram handle which read, “Done with twitter... just a breeding ground for hate and negativity... very sad that a platform so powerful, could not be used to create a better world... praying for peace and love always... deactivating my account now ... @Twitterindia.”

Sharing the screenshot Shahank captioned the post as he wrote, “Finally deleted my twitter account... I am surely inconsequential, in terms of followers and reach for the platform... but I believe every voice is important... hope such a powerful platform can evolve and reform to spread love and happiness ... Praying for a peaceful world always ... ????????????”.  

The filmmaker’s sudden actions have surprised his fans. While the real reason is yet unknown, he claimed that it is to keep away from negativity. 

On the work front, Shashank will be working with Varun Dhawan for 'Mr Lele'.
