Delhi HC denies stay over film based on Sushant Singh Rajput case; 'Nyay The Justice' gets theatrical release

The Delhi High Court has yet again denied a stay on the film 'Nyay The Justice' that is based on Sushant Singh Rajput's case. The recent development comes after the court suggested SSR’s father and the makers to find a solution to their dispute on July 15. 

Advocate Vikas Singh battled for an injunction however the judge said no relief was granted to Sushant Singh Rajput and hence the film is ready for release, reported Times of India.

On the other hand, a recent IANS report quoted the film’s producer Rahul Sharma speaking of the same, and said, "We believed justice would be served through the system and we are very happy with the verdict. We have always mentioned that this film is not being made to ride on the events and make money, but we wanted the truth to come out and justice being served."

He further asserted that the film will be released once the theatres are reopened. 

The film reportedly stars Zuber Khan and Shreya Shukla in lead roles, Aman Verma as ED chief, Asrani as Mahinder Singh's Father, Shakti Kapoor as NCB Chief, Kiran Kumar as Advocate of Mahinder's father, Anant Jog as Mumbai Police Commissioner, Anwar Fatehan as Bihar Police Commissioner, Sudha Chandran as CBI chief and other actors in pivotal roles.

Several other projects including Suicide or Murder: A Star Was Lost, and Shashank among others are being made on the late actor’s life. Rajput’s father had hit back against such projects with a legal notice and had also asked for a ban on all movies depicting his late son’s life and sought an amount of Rs 2,00,02,200 as damages from these movie-makers.
