Delegates From Sony Corporation - Japan Visit Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Sets!

In a first, delegates from one of the world’s renowned conglomerates – Sony Corporation visited the sets of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC) to get insights on India’s longest-running, a popular family comedy show. Japanese citizens Kei Tateno, Senior Machine learning researcher; Makoto Sato, Deputy Senior General Manager and Taizo Shirai, Senior System Security Expert from Sony Corporation were welcomed jointly by the shows’ very own Mr Mandar Chandwadkar (Atmaram Tukaram Bhide) and Mr Shyam Pathak (Patrakar Popatlal) who gave the guests a tour of the entire set.

“It was a delight meeting the cast of the show that we had heard about so much. It is really impressive that a family comedy series on television has had such a long and successful run. There are very few such shows even internationally which enjoy the kind of fanfare that this show commands. Our best wishes to the team of TMKOC and hope to visit them again soon,” says Makoto Sato.

Produced by Neela Tele Films Pvt Ltd, TMKOC is one of the most-watched shows on Indian television and is due to enter into its 12th year later this month.

Later in the day, TMKOC’s special guests shook a leg with the show’s most loved character Jethaalal played by Mr Dilip Joshi and Roshan Sodhi played by Mr Gurucharan Singh. The Japanese nationals were impressed with the show’s philosophy and were fascinated to know that a fun-filled family show has captivated the audiences for over a decade.
