Deepika's Emotional Note for Father Prakash Padukone is Every Proud Daughter Ever!

There's no doubt that Deepika Padukone is an exceptional actress and has millions of fans all across the globe. She is listed among the highest-paid actresses and lets her work do the talking. The actress also makes it a point to voice her opinion at places that require attention, and has been an active advocate of mental illness as well.

Besides her professional front, Deepika balances her personal life with utmost grace. Right from her adorable camaraderie with husband and actor Ranveer Singh to her heartwarming relationship with her parents, it’s always a delight to see DP express her emotions towards them.

For the uninitiated, Deepika is the daughter of Prakash Padukone, who was ranked World No. 1 in 1980; the same year he became the first Indian to win the All England Open Badminton Championships. He was also awarded the Arjuna award in 1972 and the Padma Shri in 1982 by the Government of India.

On Monday, journalist Clayton J Murzello shared a throwback picture of Prakash Padukone and wrote "40 years ago on this day Prakash Padukone won the All England Championship in London’s Wembley Arena. I’m sure @deepikapadukone would love to read this eye witness account by Shirish Nadkarni in @mid_day."

Reacting to the same, Deepika penned a few heartwarming words for her darling father and expressed: "Pappa,  Your contribution to Badminton and Indian Sport is immeasurable!  Thank You for your inspiring display of dedication, discipline, determination and years of hard work!  They don’t make you like you anymore...  We love you and are proud of you!  Thank You for being you!
