Bollywood’s precious gem Irrfan Khan breathed his last on April 29, Wednesday. After battling a long and tedious battle with neuroendocrine tumour for two long years, the actor gave up and left all of us for heavenly abode.

Irrfan’s unfortunate demise was a big shock to all his family members, friends and fans all across the globe. In a film career spanning almost thirty years, Irrfan delivered impeccable performances ranging from Hindi Cinema to Hollywood.

The late actor’s Piku co-star Deepika Padukone has felt a big blow after his demise as well. As she mourns the loss of the beloved actor, DeePee penned a beautiful and emotional poem that will surely move you to tears.

Sharing a throwback picture from the sets of Piku along with co-star Irrfan and director Shoojit Sircar, Deepika dedicated a song from Piku to Irrfan Khan:

Deepika and Irrfan shared screen space for the first time in Shoojit Sircar's Piku. The film also starred Amitabh Bachchan in a lead role and the beautiful chemistry between the trio is a delight to watch in the film. 

Some of his best work in Hindi cinema include Salaam Bombay!, Life in a... Metro, Paan Singh Tomar, The Lunchbox, Piku, Hindi Medium to name a few.

Khan had worked in several international projects such as The Warrior (2001), The Namesake (2006), The Darjeeling Limited (2007), the Academy Award-winning film Slumdog Millionaire (2008), New York, I Love You (2009), The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), Life of Pi (2012), Jurassic World (2015) and Inferno (2016).
