Deepika Padukone was not the original choice for Piku?

Well, there's no doubt that Deepika Padukone is one of the most popular actresses of Bollywood. The actress is known for delivering strong and terrific performances through her films and that's the reason why every director wants to cast her for a film. 

Deepika was highly appreciated by critics as well as the audience for her 2015 film titled Piku which was directed by Shoojit Sircar but according to a report in Mumbai Mirror Padukone was not the original choice for the film.

As per the reports in Mumbai Mirror, Parineeti Chopra revealed on a chat show hosted by Neha Dhupia that she regrets not being able to do the film. "I didn't really turn down the film...there was confusion. I was going to do another film at the same time and then that film also didn't happen, so it was my loss," Parineeti said.

Directed by Shoojit Sircar, Piku is an endearing father-daughter story, with megastar Amitabh Bachchan essaying the role of Deepika's onscreen dad. Their chemistry was natural and relatable.
