Deepika Padukone intends to have ‘Simple Pooja’ this Diwali; Plans to “Keep things quite Low-Key”

A lot has conspired in 2020 and several Bollywood celebrities have decided to keep their Diwali celebrations ‘low-key’ this year. Now, during a recent interaction with Hindustan Times, the actress has also mentioned that there won’t be any grand celebrations instead she will be hosting a simple Diwali celebration.

While the government is trying to curb the on-going coronavirus scare, many have decided to keep the celebrations intimate, and considering environmental degradation Deepika even spoke that she intends to stay home and spend time with her family followed by a simple pooja. 

Honestly, we are going to keep things quite low key, keeping in the mind the sensitivity (of the situation) towards the environment and the people around us. It’s been a difficult year for many in different ways [owing to the pandemic]. So, what we intend to do is, to stay at home, do a simple pooja and spend time with family. Normally, that’s what we, anyway, do.

The Padmaavat actress further revealed her big wish this year and said, “This year, on Diwali, if I had to wish for something for everybody, it would be good health and peace of mind. And that’s my prayer for people most of the time, even when I wish them on their birthdays as I feel that’s the real core of everything we do. Everything else is secondary.”

The festive season is just around the corner and Bollywood celebrities are already gearing up for a celebration this Diwali. Considering the sad demise of prominent icons of Bollywood, along with Deepika, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tusshar Kapoor, and many others have decided to cancel their Diwali bash.

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone recently celebrated 13-years of her hit debut film 'Om Shanti Om' on Monday by changing her Instagram and Twitter names to 'Shantipriya', the character she portrayed in the film.
