In bid to boost India’s relations with neighboring countries, the government has signed agreements with Bangladesh and South Korea under which Doordarshan India programmes will be available in those countries. The Information and Broadcasting Ministry on Wednesday confirmed the news. Under this agreement, Bangladesh’s BTV Worlds and South Korea’s KBS World will also be made available on DD Free Dish, which apparently has around 35 million subscribers across the country.
I&B Minister of India, Prakash Javadekar in an interaction with media said that the move has been taken to strengthen relationships between countries. An MoU was signed between Bangladesh TV and Prasar Bharti. Briefing media this afternoon, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said, mutual cooperation with neighbouring countries is very important and the decision will build up a mutual relationship.
Recently, The I&B Ministry has also ordered the private channels to ensure proper representation of kids in the dance-based reality shows. The decision has been widely appreciated by concerned sections of societies.
