Daniel Craig bids adieu to his James bond career! Who will be the new bond?

The undying legacy of James Bond has a new twist in tale as the list of candidates to feature as the English Spy has been announced. Daniel Craig will soon bow as agent 007 after the release of ‘James Bond: No time to Die’ (2020).

The duly elected contenders included Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston, Richard Madden and James Norton.

Heavy speculations have kicked in as to who would embrace the mantle of 007 as Craige is already running out of age. The actor has already crossed his 50s and to everyone’s benefit, the makers must rope someone young to portray the titular role of Bond.   

Idris Elba is already 46. He may be a fine figure of a man but starting a franchise around 50 is probably looking less and less likely. Suddenly another hot Brit has leapt past the current top three after a flurry of bets. 

Elba and Tom Hiddleston have been the top contenders amongst fans for years, but recently, Richard and James have slipped past them.

The actors have a benefit of experience especially if they’ve already starred a crime and action-related film which offers a huge boost to any actors prospects.

Richard Madden has been the insider's choice for much of the last 12 months after his turn in The Bodyguard, and Cillian Murphy just joined him at the top now that Peaky Blinders is back on the small screen.

Now the only option left is Norton. And, it looks like the odds are on Norton’s side. The Ladbrokes recently announced the odds which incline towards James Norton. 

Norton is the front-runner to replace Daniel Craig with a poll of 7/2 while, Madden is right on his heels at 4/1 while Hiddleston stays strong on 5/1.
