A civil court found that a neighbour's accusations against Bollywood actor Salman Khan appear to be backed by "documentary proof." Khan, who has filed a defamation lawsuit against his Panvel farmhouse neighbour Ketan Kakkad, was denied interim relief by the court last week.

Session Extensions Khan's request for an interim injunction prohibiting Kakkad from making any additional statements about him or his family members in connection with Khan's farmhouse in Panvel, in the neighbouring Raigad district, was denied by Judge Anil Laddhad.

On Wednesday, the detailed order became accessible. An NRI named Kakkad owns a block of land next to the Tiger 3 actor's farmhouse on a hill. Khan filed a defamation complaint alleging that Kakkad made defamatory remarks about him in a YouTube interview.

In videos, blogs, and tweets, Khan's lawyer, Pradeep Gandhy, contended that Kakkad made false, insulting, and defamatory charges. The lawyer also stated that Kakkad attempted to acquire a block of property next to Khan's farmhouse, but the deal was cancelled by the authorities because it was unlawful.

According to Gandhy, Kakkad subsequently began making false charges that the deal had been cancelled at Salman and his family's request.

Advocates Abha Singh and Aditya Pratap, appearing for Kakkad, opposed the relief sought by Khan, arguing that the statements revolved around facts about Khan's property and could not amount to defamation.

Kakkad had purchased his land in 1996. He retired in 2014 and wanted to live there, but could not access his land due to encumbrances caused by Salman Khan and his family, the lawyers claimed.

After reviewing the tweets and videos on the record, the court concluded that Khan failed to explain how the innuendos in the tweets were related to him.The court stated that there is "documented material" to back up Khan's claim that Kakkad was barred from entering his land.

According to the judge, Kakkad put on record, the applications made to the forest department and the collector, as well as show-cause notices issued by the forest department, in relation to the allegations that Salman committed encroachment and violated the Forest Act and Matheran Eco-Sensitive Notification.
