Couldn’t enjoy the fame yet: Aashish Mehrotra aka Toshu of ‘Anupamaa’

Star Plus’ Anupamaa is one of the post popular shows on India Television. The show has managed to make a strong mark on the viewers and now the audience is in love with the entire cast and crew of the show. The show has been securing the top position in the BARC charts. ‘Anupamaa’ is produced by Rajan and mother Deepa Shahi. The show has an excellent ensemble cast including actors like Rupali Ganguly, Sudhanshu Pandey, Alpana Buch, Arvind Vaidya, Paras Kalnawat, Anagha Bhonsle, Aashish Mehrotra, Nidhi Shah, Madalsa Sharma among others.

India Forums got in touch with Aashish Mehrotra who plays the character of Paritosh Shah in the show. When asked about ‘Anupamaa’ being his claim-to-fame show, Aashish said, “For sure. One can safely call the show as my claim to fame. I remember when I started shooting, nobody even knew about my previous projects. So, yes, the show has given me recognition. However, I couldn’t enjoy the fame yet as the show began during pandemic so I couldn’t really go out and interact with fans. Although, the feedbacks on social media are overwhelming. I remember visiting my hometown for my father’s demise. A lot of people there sort of recognized me as Toshu from ‘Anupamaa’ but of course, that wasn’t a right place and time for them to approach me and neither was I in the zone”.

Before 'Anupamaa', Aashish was a part of shows like 'Paanch- 5 Wrongs Make a Right', 'Yeh Kahaan Aagaye Hum',  'Kundali Bhagya' among others. Aashish was also one of the most consistent performers of Star Plus' India's Next Superstar.

The current track of the show revolves in Leela accepting Samar and Nandani’s relationship. Anupamaa’s dance academy gets established but meanwhile Vanraj and Kavya lose their jobs.
