Considering my outspoken nature, my father was skeptical of me being a part of Bigg Boss 16: Nimrit Alhuwalia

Bigg Boss 16’s premiere episode was a grand affair.

The show is one of the most anticipated shows on Indian Television. The sixteenth season of Bigg Boss is said to be an unexpected one filled with surprises. Salman Khan has announced that this season will be different and quite fast.

The show has popular celebrity contestants like Tina Datta, Shalin Bhanot, Nimrit Alhuwalia, Gautam Vig, Sreejita De, Archana Gautam, Gori Nagori among others.

India Forums got in touch with beautiful Nimrit Alhuwaliya who’s all set to take the controversial show as a challenge. She was seen having a warm camaraderie with the host of the show Salman Khan in the premiere episode. In a candid chat with us when asked about preps for the show, Nimrit said, “Well, I’ve been giving myself pep-talks that everything will be fine and I can sail through this journey. I guess there’s nothing more that we can prepare for in a show like Bigg Boss”.

When asked about her family’s reaction to the news of her bagging the show, Nimrit said, “Honestly, the first reaction of my father was that he was scared. Considering the fact that I’m quite outspoken and muh-fatt, he was scared that what if I say things that I shouldn’t. But later of course they were supportive and nothing in my life that I do is without their approval. My father gave a pep talk to me and since he has an Army background, he told me that I’m a soldier for around 105 days and have to emerge stronger in this journey even after being cut-off from friends and family. He ended by saying that you just need to stay strong and believe that you have what it takes”.

When asked if she’s fine with connecting with someone on a romantic level inside the house, Nimrit said, “Honestly, I’m not doing this show for finding love. If I had to, I have a pretty big pool of people to choose from, or be on a dating app, like many people are. So, I’m certainly not in the show for romance. I feel it’s quite hard for me to find people outside the house and the probability of finding the right one inside the house is quite minimal”.

Talking about qualities in other housemates that would put her off, Nimrit said, “I don’t appreciate people who go extra-personal or get bitchy. Specifically, when people make lewd comments on other people's physical appearance. The other thing that can put me off is male chauvinism. I’d love to see equal power- control between men and women and I truly believe that that’s how society should be and I’ll try to make sure that I bring that on the table”.
