Film Reviews

Cheers to Akshaye-Anupam's performance, but the film lacks vision!

Dramatic excellence with good story but misses out on directorial front (2.5/5)

In retrospect, many events shaped the country's future during Dr. Manmohan Singh's tenure. The film features the life of a man who struggled for the country's better future, but some forces acted out against his goodwill. The film aligns apt information about the economic legacy which is adapted from the book 'The accidental prime minister' by Sanjay Baru.

Coming to the film, it might seem to be entering the controversial sphere but, as far as the direct approach is concerned it voices out real names and activities in a humorously and witty aspect. Overall there have been many loopholes which might seem unappealing to the audience's eye and the overall cinematic experiences.

Visually, the film lacks execution which was very necessary and gets difficult for the eyes to catch up with the frames as it might strain one's eyes. On the directorial front, the film certainly needed to do better as it tends to change the timeline swiftly and materializes on raw footage.

Akshaye Khanna and Anupam Kher have done excellently as they tend to get in the character's skin which makes it exhilarating to watch. Adding to it, its evident Anupam Kher is one of the best actors the country has offered the world while Akshaye, on the other hand, is one of the underrated Bollywood actors who has been casted aside without granting a chance to prove himself.

Final verdict; after savoring the cinematic glitches the only question which would cross your mind is why did the director take 2 years to complete the film? Furthermore, the film appropriately grasps the hammer to nail the indirect propaganda which completely serves the purpose. Yet again Dr. Manmohan Singh proved to be the getaway goat for the ex-ruling party and its mighty leaders. Lastly, the film is a one-timer however, personally, I would not want to watch the film all over again.
