However, combating all the odds and criticism, it has become one of the most successful reality shows spawning nine seasons, with tenth season already announced.
Completing ten years this year, the show has been responsible for assisting several careers of several celebrities. Today, many names credit their success to their stint on this show! We list down those celebrities who gained the most out of their stint in the house, later in their careers.

Not many knew Ravi Kishan before his Bigg Boss act. The actor was certainly a popular star in Bhojpuri cinema, but his stint in Bigg Boss Season 1 made him a sensation among fans, making it to the Top 3. Currently, he is one of the finest character actors in Bollywood and credits a major chunk of his success to the show. And of course, who can forget the famous one liner he invented, "zindagi jhandwa, phir bhi ghamandwa! (Life is as good as hell, still there is so much pride in us)" which went on to become a cult, literally!Season 2- Rahul Mahajan
When Rahul entered Bigg Boss, he was just one of those controversial politicians involved in an embroiling controversy pertaining the death of his father, Pramod Mahajan. His stint in the show made him a television personality. The major highlight of his stay included his multiple link ups with Monica Bedi and Payal Rohatgi, where with the latter, he also shared some intimate' moments on the show.

Kamaal R Khan's stay in the show showcased two personalities of him - bragging, arrogant and violent, where he was ousted from the show and later came across as a mellowed down, at-peace person during his re-entry in the show.
These days, he reviews films and shows, pass derogatory comments on celebrities and gets involved in controversies voluntarily.
So, he justifies the famous saying, "Love him or hate him, you can't ignore him."Season 4- Dolly Bindra, Ashmit Patel and Veena Malik
It was probably the most controversial season till date, where the makers managed to get the most controversial people together under one roof. So, we couldn't take out one person from this season, it just wouldn't be fair to others!
Dolly Bindra is still remembered for her cuss word mouthing, loud and squeaky voice and picking up fights with almost everyone. Ashmit Patel was already infamous for his MMS Scandal with Riya Sen and he added more feathers to his cap' owing to his fight with Dolly, which is frequently watched on Youtube. Also his link up with Veena Malik created a lot of buzz in the series. Veena, herself came in with a controversy surrounding a Pakistani cricketer, Mohammed Asif and this show was just another booster for her vexed' career, courtesy her intimacy with Ashmit.Season 5- Sunny Leone
This one just doesn't get any crystal clear, does it? From coming in the show as a former porn actress to becoming a popular face on the show, where filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt spotted her and came in the house to offer her a film. Be it his intolerable antiques with the housemates in the house, innumerable fights with housemates, his eccentric outfits or his infamous argument with host, Salman Khan, Imam Siddique sealed his image on the show as an infuriating persona who was undeniably an entertainer. His stint made him re-enter the latest season, (Bigg Boss 9) as a special guest for a week in order to create a stir for the housemates.Season 7- Ajaz Khan
Ajaz was already famous for Mumbaiyaa Tapori (Mumbai's rowdy)' image before entering the show. However, his stay enhanced that image to infinity where he would constantly talk in that slang language. And of course, his fights with Armaan Kohli and affection towards Gauhar Khan made worked as catalysts for his noted presence and boosted his career later.Season 8- Karishma Tanna
Not that Karishma wasn't a known face already with an illustrious career in her kitty, but her stay in the Bigg Boss house became an important career highlight for her. Repeated fights with Gautam Gulati, link up with Upen Patel, fight for her make-up, tiff with Salman Khan, she did it all and made it a masala entertaining stint. Post the show, Karishma, apart from being a television and film actress now became a reality TV star going on to participate in shows like Nach Baliye 7 and hosting MTV Love School with beau Upen.

@nilu: Ellie did a movie wid Manish Paul before BB named Mickey Virus so her name is not there. Andy was a famous VJ n host of many shows. As for Ali, I did not knew him before BB.

anyway bb sucks, i advice no one to enter the show they will get mental trauma/imbalance
