"Cancer is Horrible, it Hurts you in Every Way": Ayaan's Heart-Wrenching Speech about Cancer will Leave you Teary Eyed

Emraan Hashmi's son Ayaan Hashmi who battled Cancer at a very young age and emerged victorious delivered a very heart-touching speech on the occasion of World Cancer Day 2020 at the Nargis Dutt Foundation event hosted by Priya Dutt. The young boy who is just ten years-old was the strongest speaker at the event and took everyone by surprise. His emotional speech received a standing ovation from fellow cancer survivor, actress Sonali Bendre and others present at the event.

At the event, Ayaan delivered a heart touching speech which in return got a standing ovation from cancer survivor Sonali Bendre. Emraan Hashmi’s son started his speech saying,

Yesterday was my birthday, surprisingly today is cancer day. I think it is a coincidence. So my first day I was doing this was at Tata Memorial Hospital event. That was pretty good too. But I think this one is going to be a little bit better because I am going to say something about cancer. Cancer is horrible, it hurts you in every way, mentally and physically but after I survived cancer, my whole life has changed. I was strong, I was a fearless leader. For (fighting) cancer, you need to have a few qualities and that everyone over here has. You need to be strong. Everyone is strong over here. Fearless and fighter.

Ayaan concluded saying,

To end my speech, I will only say one sentence ‘Cancer is curable’.

For those unaware, Emraan's son, Ayaan was diagnosed with first-stage cancer in the year 2014 when he was around 4 years-old and last year Emraan had announced that his son has been declared cancer-free. This was for the first time that he spoke about his son battling with cancer through his social media post. He then went on to co-write a book titled 'The Kiss of Life: How A Superhero and My Son Defeated Cancer' along with Bilal Siddiqi.

In past few years, many Bollywood actors were diagnosed with cancer. Irrfan Khan, Sonali Bendre, Rishi Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana’s Tahira Kashyap, Emraan Hashmi’s son Ayaan, Rakesh Roshan, Manisha Koirala among others. While a few are currently under medical treatment, others have been announced cancer-free and became a strong cancer survivor.
