Alongside that global leap, the film also crossed Rs 700 crore in India nett collections, placing it among a very small group of Indian releases to achieve the feat.

Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar continues to rewrite box office benchmarks without relying on dramatic spikes or last minute boosts. The film has sustained its theatrical momentum well into its fourth week, adding another major milestone to its run on day 24.

The Ranveer Singh led spy action film has now pushed past the worldwide earnings of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, a title that once redefined post pandemic box office expectations. Alongside that global leap, the film also crossed Rs 700 crore in India nett collections, placing it among a very small group of Indian releases to achieve the feat.

A Steady Fourth Sunday Pushes The Film Ahead

On Sunday, December 28, Dhurandhar added Rs 22.5 crore to its India nett total based on early estimates shared by Sacnilk. This marked a clear rise from Saturday’s Rs 20.5 crore, showing that audience interest remains strong even after more than three weeks in theatres.

With this addition, the film’s domestic nett collection has climbed to Rs 706.40 crore, as reported by the makers. The achievement is significant because only four other Indian films have crossed the Rs 700 crore mark in India before this. Those titles include Pushpa 2 The Rule with Rs 1,234.1 crore, Baahubali 2 The Conclusion with Rs 1,030.42 crore, KGF Chapter 2 with Rs 859.7 crore, and RRR with Rs 782.2 crore.

Dhurandhar now stands as the fifth film to enter this bracket, doing so without the advantage of extended holiday runs or inflated weekday jumps.

Global Numbers Place Dhurandhar Among The Biggest

The film’s performance overseas has also helped it climb the all time rankings. On Sunday, Dhurandhar went past Pathaan’s worldwide gross of Rs 1,055 crore, moving into the list of the highest grossing Indian films globally.

With a worldwide total of Rs X crore, the film currently ranks seventh on the all time chart. It now sits just below Atlee’s Jawan, which closed its global run at Rs 1,160 crore. While Dhurandhar is earning more steadily at the Indian box office compared to Jawan at a similar stage, the overseas numbers tell a different story.

Dhurandhar’s international collection stands at Rs 230 crore so far. In comparison, Jawan had amassed close to Rs 400 crore from markets outside India. This gap makes it uncertain whether Dhurandhar will be able to overtake Jawan’s lifetime global total despite its strong domestic performance.

Occupancy Figures Reflect Sustained Audience Interest

The film’s hold is also visible in its occupancy data. On Sunday, Dhurandhar recorded an overall Hindi market occupancy of 46.58 per cent, which is notable for a film running in its fourth week.

Morning shows began at 26.31 per cent, indicating a relatively slow start to the day. However, footfalls increased sharply as the day progressed. Afternoon shows saw occupancy rise to 56.54 per cent, while evening screenings registered 56.89 per cent, reflecting strong walk ins and repeat viewership.

This pattern suggests that the film continues to attract audiences during peak hours, even as newer releases enter the market.

What Lies Ahead For Dhurandhar

With Rs 706.40 crore already secured domestically and solid weekday holds expected, Dhurandhar is likely to push further up the all time India nett rankings. While surpassing Jawan worldwide may remain a challenge due to overseas limitations, the film’s current run has already placed it among the most successful Indian releases ever.

More importantly, Dhurandhar’s box office journey highlights the power of sustained word of mouth and consistent turnout rather than front loaded openings alone. As its theatrical run continues, the film has firmly established itself as one of the defining commercial stories of recent years.

Dhurandhar is indeed refusing to slow down, and there is a chance, a real possibility that the film might just beat Pushpa 2 - The Rule to become the highest-grossing Hindi film domestically of all time.
