Boney Kapoor reveals how Sridevi starrer song 'Kaante nahin kat te' was shot

When talking about Sridevi’s top hit songs, it’s hard to miss the song 'Kaante nahin kat te' from the film Mr. India. With B-Town's most iconic pairing, Anil Kapoor and late actress Sridevi, the song was a superhit number and still continues to be an all time favourite track for the audiences.

Boney Kapoor, who backed the 1987 film recently recalled the making of the iconic song and revealed that getting Shri ji to wear a chiffon sari and a breeze adding to the drama was all a part of trying to make her look her most sensuous ever on-screen.

"We had initially thought of a set model for the song, but then we improvised...I provoked Shekhar(director Shekhar Kapur) that she (Sridevi) should look more sensuous than what anyone has looked before on-screen. She was quite sensuous in a song in Janbaaz (Har Kisi Ko Nahi Milta), so he took it up as a challenge," Mr Kapoor told IANS.

He further added, "After the prodding, he (Shekhar) got this blue chiffon sari, and we used a big fan to create the breezy environment... Her hair was flying and the sari was clinging to the body. There was not an iota of skin show in it. Still, it remains a sensual song."

Mr.India is a classic sci-fic entertainer and there could be no one better than Sridevi for this superhit track of all times..
