Bollywood designer Swapnil Shinde comes out as transwoman, B’wood stars support

Bollywood Designer Swapnil Shinde made a big revelation on social media as he came out as a ‘transwoman.’

Swapnil is now ‘Saisha Shinde’ as she shared her story of realising her truth and coming out on social media. She shared a few pictures with long hair and makeup, all set to embrace this new life. 

The fashion designer also penned a long emotional note and shared how she never fit in a man’s world and at 20, she found the courage to accept her truth.

“Irrespective of your origin, there will always be something that reminds you of your childhood. For me, it takes me back to the kind of loneliness that aches, to pressures that pushed me into solitude and the chaos of confusion that grew every moment” her post read.

She added, “All through school and college, while the boys outside tormented me because I was different, the internal pain was far worse. I felt suffocated living a reality that I knew wasn't mine, yet one that I had to stage everyday because of societal expectations and norms. It was only in my early 20s at NIFT where I found the courage to accept my truth; I truly bloomed.”

Saisha further adds how at first she thought she was gay but it was just 6 years ago, she finally accepted herself as ‘trans’ and is happily coming out to the world today.

“I spent the next few years believing that I was attracted to men because I was gay, but it was only 6 years ago that I finally accepted to myself, and today that I accept to you. I'm not a gay man. I am a Transwoman” she concluded.

As soon as Saisha made the big revelation on social media, Bollywood friends started pouring in their support in the comments section.

Actress Sunny Leone wrote, "I love you and I am so proud of you for being the BEST YOU!! The YOU you always wanted to be. Congrats and happy birthday SISTA!!"

While Shruti Haasan dropped a red heart under the post, Sai Tamhankar wrote “Big Love.” Aditi Rao Hydari commented by saying, “Big hug (sic)” whereas Hazel Keech showed her support by writing, “Brave and courageous.”
