Bollywood actors Kangana Ranaut, Priyanka Chopra, Ajay Devgn mourns the death of CDS General Bipin Rawat

As yesterday came the news of the sudden demise of CDS General Bipin Rawat has shocked the whole nation. 

Actors of the Bollywood fraternity also took to their social media to express grief over the passing away of India's first Chief of Defence Staff, who died today after a military chopper crashed in Tamil Nadu which killed 13 on board.

Filmmaker Karan Johar tweeted, 

"Extremely shocked and saddened by the demise of General Bipin Rawat, his wife and the troops of the Indian Armed Forces. Saluting the brave & selfless service he has given to the nation while we mourn this untimely loss. Rest in power."

Kangana Ranaut posted a picture of the late soldier and wrote, 

"Most horrible news of the year the demise of Sh. #BipinRawat and his wife in a tragic helicopter crash. The nation will always be grateful to Gen. Rawat for his service to the nation. Om Shanti.. Jai Hind.."

Sidharth Malhotra posted, 

"Really sad and shocked at the tragic loss of CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife & 11 others. It was an honour to meet him recently at Shershaah's trailer launch. Om shanti #RestInPeace #BipinRawat"

Ajay Devgn wrote, 

"Grieved to know about the untimely demise of Gen. Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat, and his troops of the Indian Armed Forces. My deepest condolences to all their families".

In her Instagram stories, Priyanka Chopra wrote, “Such tragic news. Sending prayers and strength to the families dealing with this unimaginable loss. Om Shanti".

The sad news was confirmed by Indian Air Force today through their official Twitter handle that read, 

"With deep regret, it has now been ascertained that Gen Bipin Rawat, Mrs Madhulika Rawat and 11 other persons on board have died in the unfortunate accident."

Other celebrities including Bhumi Pednekar, Nimrat Kaur, Raveena Tandon, Vivek Oberoi, Tamannaah Bhatia, Lara Dutta, and Ravi Kishan among others also mourned the demise of CDS General Bipin Rawat, on their social media handles.
