In the desperate times of the pandemic, people from all walks of life have united to help the nation rise against the virus. Bollywood celebrities have also been constantly striving to use their resources to create awareness and generate funds to help needy people. 

Actress Bhumi Pednekar has been working relentlessly amid the second wave of the Covid-19 crisis to help the people suffering from the brunt crippling healthcare system. From dedicating her social media handles to amplifying the Covid requests and resources, she has joined hands with several organizations to provide and donate the necessary resources for the needy.

Now, she has partnered with Kapil Sharma to help patients in Karnataka battling the virus.

A recent Bollywood Hungama report quoted the Pati Patni Aur Woh actress speaking about her efforts and said, “Our country is currently witnessing the second wave of this deadly virus which has now penetrated rural India. With so many cases coming from smaller towns and villages where medical assistance and aid might be limited, the need of the hour is to provide oxygen to the patients. Through Mission Zindagi, we are focusing our attention towards rural India and are starting with some districts in Karnataka.”

Bhumi earlier teamed up with Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's Mission Zindagi initiative, and now she has joined hands with Kapil to provide oxygen supply for people in Karnataka. The programme will send oxygen buses outside COVID hospitals in Hoskote, Devanahalli, Doddaballapur, Nelamangala-1 & Nelamangala-2 to help aid those in need.

The 31-year-old actress explained, “Our buses would be installed with oxygen concentrators that would provide tertiary care to patients outside district hospital emergencies while they wait for a bed. Our buses will help share the load of hospitals in smaller towns where the cases are now rising. I’m glad we collaborated with Kapil on this leg of the mission as he is well-loved by many. I want to do my bit to ensure that as many COVID-19 patients get the help that they critically need and I’m thankful to Gurudev for being a beacon of hope at this time of crisis.”

India is struggling to survive amid the novel coronavirus pandemic and many people are helping each other on an individual level. From gathering information about oxygen cylinders and vacant hospital beds to providing food to Covid patients, we have been hearing stories of empathy and compassion from across the city.

Talking about the same, Kapil Sharma said, “As Humans, we have to support each other right now. I’m also doing my bit. It is my honour to associate with the extraordinary work that Gurudev & BJS (Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana) are doing. With Bhumi, who is doing exemplary work towards COVID relief, this initiative with Mobile oxygen Buses, we have now started supporting people in Karnataka & planning to take this to more states as well.”

India has witnessed an unprecedented surge in Covid-19 cases. People along with several Bollywood celebrities have taken a step ahead to help the needy.

Earlier, Bhumi Pednekar had also contracted the novel Coronavirus in April 2021. Informing her fans about the same, she took to her social media handle and shared that she has mild symptoms of Coronavirus and has isolated herself.
