Balraj Syal on turning singer due to his wife Deepti Tuli

Actor Balraj Syal, as we know is known for his amazing comic timing and even for his acting roles as of late. But little did we anticipate that Syal has a singing talent and that's not just us but the actor himself did not know he had this skill.

Syal recently made his singing debut owing to his wife Deepti Tuli with the song, Incomplete. Talking about it in an interview with Times of India, Syal said, “The song is all about finding your soul. Aadmi apne aapko hi dhoondh raha hai. Aur agar logon ki complaints hain toh woh bata raha hai ki main abhi apne aapko hi nahi dhoondh paaya hoon. What am I and what do I seek from life? This song will fit every mood and strike a chord with music lovers. It has been composed by Kunal, while I am the lyricist and singer."

Talking about never thinking he can sing or even hold a mic, he said, “Singing was like a forbidden path for me. Yeh ek aisi field hai jisme maine aane ka kabhi socha hi nahi tha. Even while performing for my comedy shows like Comedy Circus and Entertainment Ki Raat, I would be on tenterhooks when a musical act would be incorporated in the script, as I had no clue how to pull it off. So, singing is something I hadn’t even dreamt of attempting.”

The song has managed to do a decent job as well, where he said, “What came to my rescue was my ability to mimic people. I have my biggest critic at home...my wife, Deepti. I remember when we decided to get married, she called her parents and told them, ‘ Mere toh music ka beda garak ho gaya kyunki yeh aadmi na toh dhang ke gaane sunnta hai, na music ke baare mein baat karta hai toh mera toh pata nahi kya hoga. So, the progression and transformation are all because of her."

When asked as to why was the song titled Incomplete, he said, “It’s titled Incomplete because I am alone in the song. When I release a song with Deepti, I will be complete (laughs!).”
