'Baahubali 2' producer responds to 'Pathaan' breaking their record & being the highest-grossing Hindi film

On one hand where the box-office was seemingly facing a drought that worried many, a few bright sparks did come in, one of them in recent times being Drishyam 2.

But post Drishyam 2, there was yet another gap where films continued to be unsuccessful constantly. Then came in the much-awaited film, Pathaan. The next thing we know and almost 40 days into the film's release, the Shah Rukh Khan, John Abraham and Deepika Padukone led film has broken all possible records at the box office.

While the overall collections might still see it lagging behind a few films, Pathaan achieved one of the most-coveted milestones recently and that was of crossing the box office of Baahubali 2 (Hindi) and thus becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.

Indeed that's a massive feat and we can only imagine which film might be in running to break that number in the upcoming slate of films.

As this happened though, one of the producers of Baahubali 2, Shobhi Yarlagadda went on to respond to this and has some really sweet words to say.

His tweet read, "Congratulations to @iamsrk sir, #SiddharthAnand @yrf and the entire team of #Pathaan on crossing @BaahubaliMovie 2 Hindi NBOC. Records are meant to be broken and I am happy it was none other than @iamsrk who did it!"+

This was indeed really magnanimous and sweet of the producer to acknowledge and it is always heartening to see mutual respect amid friendly competition on all fronts.

As things stand, Pathaan tops the list of highest-grossing Hindi films followed in a slender margin by Baahubali 2, KGF Chapter 2 (Hindi) and Dangal.
