Avika Gor Reminisces Shooting for Balika Vadhu: I was too young to think of it as work!

Actress Avika Gor who rose to fame with her performance as Anandi in the show Balika Vadhu, got in touch with us where  she spoke about her favourite co-stars, experience in Khatron Ke Khiladi and Balika Vadhu, her Bollywood debut, favourite actor and much more.

Avika opened up on her favourite co-stars and said, “Manish, because I have shot with him for the longest. Then Shaleen, he’s very hard working and a good actor. Then If I have to talk about south Indian actors then there is nikhil, Raj, I am very close to them, all my south indian fans would know about that. There are so many actors I love working with.”

Avika had also participated in Colors TV reality show Khatron ke Khiladi, speaking about her experience in the same, she shared, “It was nice, I enjoyed every bit of it. When I came back from the show because I had a bit of injury, many actors asked me shall we do it because if you got injured then it’s not safe right, but it’s not about that. I am actually quite proud of the marks that I have today. I feel very good when I see those marks because I feel that even after getting hurt, I still performed 3 other tasks. Everyone should experience it once in life, it’s a brilliant show.”

Avika also worked with the Telugu star Naga Shaurya in the film ‘Lakshmi Raave Maa Intiki’, speaking about the same, she shared, “Naga Shaurya is a sweetheart, my second movie in telugu was with him. He is a very nice person at heart because he used to treat his team (assistant, makeup and hair boy) very nicely. When a person does that it really shows what a good human being he is.” 

Talking about her upcoming Bollywood project and when it will release, Avika said, “You should ask this to the makers. I have no update, I have done my part of the job that is acting and dubbing. It also depends on the situation, when everything is fine around us maybe then the team will take the call.”

She spoke about her bond with Aly and stated, “Aly is more like a brother than a friend. He is very close to me.”

She also spoke about her experience shooting for Balika Vadhu and said, “It was like a learning phase for me and it will always be.  At that age you don’t understand what TRP means. It was just me having fun. I just used to go to the sets and the makeup dada used to teach me maths. Everything used to happen on the sets. More than school, most of my friends were from the sets. I was too young to think of it as work.”

Avika who started off with Television has now made a mark in the Telugu film industry as well. When asked about working there, she said, "I love this industry and the people here. First of all I don't speak telugu but still they welcomed me with open arms. It is difficult but as an actor it is very challenging to act in a very different language and completely different culture. But I am enjoying this because it is different and you learn a lot."

She also revealed her Favourite Actor and said,  “If it is overall, then definitely hugh jackman, I am a big big wolverine fan and Ryan Reynolds. If you’re talking about Bollywood then there is Ayushmann, Vikcy Kaushal and so many people I love watching on screen. In Tollywood, I love Allu Arjun when he’s dancing, I think he’s the best.”

She also revealed that she misses Dipika Kakkar a lot and said,  “I miss simar didi a lot. I haven't been able to meet her. Whenever I am in Mumbai, it’s just 1-2 days to finish off my work and I come back to Hyderabad. So I didn’t get a chance to meet her but I’ll make sure it happens this time. I miss her. We used to spend so much time together on sets, It almost felt that we are real sisters. I miss shoaib bhaiya, I miss ‘cuddle’ who is their pet."
